Why crack injection and repair?

Cracks in concrete foundation walls, floors, and roofs are a major problem in North America. But what makes the already cast concrete foundation to crack? This process starts immediately after the casting of the concrete and generally continues until the third year. The soil underneath is still movable and it lends itself. Concrete cracking starts from the base, and in almost all cases up to the top of the foundation wall or along floors, and roofs. Once cracked, the surface is an open door for moisture, leaks, mold and unpleasant odors, and a favorite place for different insects.

Concrete repair is the process of fixing a hardened concrete surface that, over time, has lost the ability to hold the binding concrete materials together due to damage or environmental exposure. Any sort of crack in the structure, regardless of the size and shape, will affect the structure negatively. When we talk about concrete crack injection, we are talking about polyurethane injections which are designed and developed to restore the strength of different structures and repair the cracks that have taken over the structures.Usually, these injections are hassle-free and more affordable compared to other solutions that can be used to repair cracks on structures. The repair strength of these injections happens to be stronger than that of concrete. The solution also prevents movement of the concrete that takes place during natural expansion and provides the concrete with the potential to create more structural stability and strength.

Concrete repair is appropriate for cracks, physical impacts, chipped out surfaces or surface scaling.Concrete cracks with water leaks can cause serious structural problems. Water leaks may lead to corrosion of steel reinforcements within the concrete – resulting in structural weakness.

However concrete surface & foundation cracks can be sealed by either a polyurethane injection or resurfacing (parging) and it is possible to avoid spending a fortune as the cost to seal water leaks by crack injection is low compared to exterior excavation.
